Count Down!!!

Almost all of the stuff that is getting shipped to the coast is packed to ship OR gathered close enough to the box it is going in that it is not a problem. After two long consecutive 12 hour  days of busting our collective backs getting 14 cubic square foot boxes packed to ship Fed Ex. I said ENOUGH!  I told my saw man I did not want to see his face at the house for the next two days! We DESERVE A WELL EARNED BREAK! From the size of the grin on his face I could tell he was all broke up over it, but I stood firm and said NO WORK on this for 48 hours!

Yesterday was about doing as absolutely little as humanly possible. Seriously all I did was spray house and put my laundry bag into the van. I was that tired. Today is about getting  to the laundromat if I make it that far and finding a pair of coveralls I can wear when I am working on things like the van, boat etc. I still have not made it to the laundromat but I did manage to get a pair of coveralls. You know the idea, SAVE MY CLOTHES from constant stains of materials that are never going to come out.  I can't believe the gaul of Orshelans. 89.00 for a set of made in China 100 % cotton. Whew! I found some at Tractor supply. Still more then I wanted to pay at 40 plus dollars after tax and no they did not have them in my size but it will work. If any one laughs to loud I'm gonna deck them. It really is as simple as that. LOL The crouch is about knee level but the smaller ones had NO shoulder room. It will do until I can find a better fit. The goal is keep my clothes from getting destroyed not running for Miss America.

On the really good news side. Finally I got my computer running to suit me. I made the switch to Linux out of shear desperation. Finally today I decided to try Applebee's wifi as opposed to McD's. I have to got to plug this! Happy hour appetizers, ( onion rings), iced tea and wifi at a respectable speed as in it did not take forever to update and get my DVD software installed.

Boat wise, the inside of the boat is starting to look like someone lives in it instead of looking like the rejected junk room of the local good will. All in all life is good. I can actually see me getting out of here in the reasonable future if NOTHING ELSE messes up!!!!
I decided how I am going to deal with The Toy. She is getting put on top of the van and going with me. I'll finish her down south.

That's about it for now. Sail safe but what ever you do GET OUT THERE AND SAIL! Life is to short to just flap YOUR gums about it!

Whew! FINALLY! IT is ALL about the BOAT ( well almost) !

Wow! As I am logging I notice last post was in December.  No I did not fall off the face of the planet. Just off the INTERNET. Had some temporary glitches.  Windows locked me out of my computer so hard even the CD would not boot to let me do a fresh reinstall. Error code said it was a major registry problem.  Finally after lots of research and no results I took a chance grabbed the old UBUNTU Cd that I had never got around to fooling with and it went just fine.  Went to update it and found out it was to old to update aso I installed 12.04 and lost all net work connections since I did not know how to do the network part. Finally found someone who is IT even though they have never done Linux before and he got it up and running in no time. So now am on Linux full time. Love it! The only thing I really do not like is I pretty much have to be on-line to install some games I found. That part I would prefer that aspect  was set up different but I can live with it.

Not to worry. All is well or at least as  good as it is going to get for a while. Lots has happened since last post so onto the highlights of this last 6 months.
House is under a pending contract on a rent to own. Decided to go with that since the market for old houses in this are at least is really low and real estate agents want way to much for something this price range. Yes, I am selling cheap I want to be on the water not growing old  on land waiting for the perfect price. . Have a deposit on the down and rest to be in hand soon so that much is out of the way.
Have a bit of the yard to clean up and stuff to get shipped but other then that I'm so close to being good to go it is scary.
Have a tow vehicle. A 3/4 ton Chevy van. Shes old and the paint job is 2 steps above purely ghetto but the engine is solid. had to get some front end work and new tires on her but now I'm not the least bit afraid to take her any where they have a road.I am actually thinking about pimping out the paint job once the boat issues is under control.

Then there is the best news. I am officially a grandmother! My first grand child was born May 1st . She weighed 9 lbs and 2 oz.  Due to the parents wishes I am not posting her name or photo but she is a gorgeous little girl. Mother and baby are doing fine and dad has survived his first pregnancy. Now finally once I get the stuff packed and shipped I am ON MY WAY to water!!!!!

THE BOAT

Finally after months of delays the bottom is sanded down to the gel coat. Other then going over it one last time to make sure I have not missed any spots and the fact the gel is seriously pitted and cracked in various spots, it is in much better shape then I expected. Have some of the tops side  sanded down to get stress cracks from no backing plates taken care of. Have made most of the wood back plates for deck hard ware. Did the drill and fill with epoxy. Once I get gel coat and stress cracks out of deck I wlil install those and put the hard ware back in place.

I'm glad I stuck to my guns on that one. Some Previous owner  slapped two layers of bottom pain on a hull that has holes in the gel coat. Seriously. As I'm sanding at first I thought I was just going to hard at it and digging into the gel. I slowed down and wala! What do I end up  with? I'm seeing spots of bottom paint not yet sanded through on that had large spots of bare fiber glass showing under the bottom paint. I am so glad I decided to go with my gut. If I had not I can just see large blisters in the hull. OY!

AM on wifi hots spots until I decide if I'm getting one of those private hot spots. Am also seriously considering going to a prepaid phone plane that included  unlimited data. This mobile web  thing Verizon has is a sad joke if your trying to to anything real on-line. Time will tell for sure but I made some phone calls. Sprint is sad here locally but they don't seem to have a problem in my target area and the price is right so I may go with that.

Moved into the  V 222 full time about 2 months ago. I'm currently sharing it with all kinds of stuff that has to be sorted and shipped. The available living space is about 7 1/2 by 8 so once I get the v berth empty of stuff the extra room should seem like a mansion. LOL

Not much else to say
Sail Safe but SAIL!!!!!
